An Ecosystem of Innovators
Abigail Poeske + Rachel Hosler
The Commons will connect university students from Northeast Ohio’s 27 universities with local industry through a multi-collegiate, interdisciplinary innovation program. The Commons in Cleveland will leverage the Health Tech Corridor’s Innovation District, as well as Cleveland’s strengths in healthcare and public health. By building networks between university students and healthcare organizations and teaching the students innovation skills, The Commons can simultaneously address brain drain and the need for healthcare innovation by upskilling young talent in an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Cleveland would employ the tried-and-true curriculum, and hopefully operational support, of The Commons in Milwaukee which has enjoyed great success..
